Beeston Castle

Beeston Castle is located in Beeston, Cheshire, England.
It´s situated in an elevated position.
Beeston castle was built in 1220 by Ranulph de Blondeville.
In 1237 Henry III of England took Beeston, and the castle was maintained
in good conditions until the XVI century .
The castle was demolished parcially, in 1646 to avoid its being used
again as a fortress. In the XVIII century, the castle was used as a quarry.
It´s rumored that there is a treasure under the castle´s grounds.
The castle is in ruins. Now it´s property of the English Heritage.
