Azay-le-Rideau Castle


Azay-le-Rideu is in Indre-Loira (France). It was built between 1518 and 1527, on a small island on the Indre river. The Castle has beautiful gardens overlooking the river. The Castle is an example of French Renaissance.
Along the centuries it had many different owners. At the beiginning of the XX century, the government acquired the Castle. The inside of the Castle was completely restored. Also, it has many pieces of the Renaissance.
The Azay decoration is originally from Italy.
The Castle has an important central stair. The garden has many exotic trees.
